About Inkywood

The Idea
Was to create something that melts art, illustration, and furniture design. Build a new kind of furniture, something where two different kinds of artists meet. Two dimensions meet the third dimension, apply on it and create something new. Some kind of three dimensional sketchbook, a three dimensional canvas. Something which brings art into daily life, as a usable, enjoyable piece of furniture.

The Solution
After a few months of sketching, prototyping, and designing, a table was created. It presents a nearly timeless shape which revives classical aesthetics while still retaining the appeal of today’s design trends. Fun and effortless to assemble, without the aid of screws or glue, the Inkywood holds strong enough withstand the everyday stress test.

The Art
By Chuck Anderson (Nopattern) and Zach Johnsen (Zenvironments) makes both of the tables an individual piece of wonderful art. The love for detail by both artists gives the table warmth and life, you are able to find something new each time you look at it.
